Biography
Mateja Šmid Hribar, Ph.D. is a Research Associate at the Anton Melik Geographical Institute of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) and an Assistant Professor at the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU. She holds an MSc in Natural Heritage Protection and a PhD in Geography. Her research primarily explores human-nature interactions as key drivers of landscape management. Recently, her work encompasses the governance of traditional and new commons and common-pool resources, and also the role of ecosystem services in natural resource governance. She is employing various methodological approaches such as qualitative data obtained through conducting interviews and focus groups, field visits as well as collecting and analysing quantitative data.
She has (co-)authored articles and books on commons governance, cultural landscapes, and ecosystem services.
