Marco Bassi

Marco Bassi is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Palermo (Italy). He has held positions at Addis Ababa University, Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Oxford, and the University of Trento. He received the Distinguished Scholarship Award from the Oromo Studies Association in 2011. From 2021 to 2023, he was the President of the Italian Association for Applied Anthropology (SIAA) and still co-directs the journal of the association Antropologia Pubblica. He currently serves as Councillor for Europe of the ICCA Consortium.
